About Mississippi Today
Founded in 2016 as a statehouse watchdog, Pulitzer Prize–winning Mississippi Today has expanded from its roots in Capitol coverage to become one of the most comprehensive newsrooms in Mississippi, covering education, public health, criminal justice, and the environment while also providing in-depth investigative reporting. Now the largest newsroom in the state, Mississippi Today demonstrates that free, nonpartisan journalism is essential to a healthy democracy and government accountability. Guided by its tagline “We report to you," Mississippi Today is committed to serving communities across the state and meeting their information needs with accuracy, independence, and purpose.
