"Undocumented Under COVID": A New Video Series

Immigration

Posted August 2020

This new series from United We Dream explores the lives of undocumented immigrants and how their precarious situations are further complicated by COVID-19.

Viktor is a DACA recipient, a grocery store worker, and proud uncle. Having worked in retail and groceries for most of their young adult life, Vik was shocked to find themselves caught between the wellbeing of their family and that of the elderly customers that shop at their store everyday.

Olimpia is an undocumented caregiver who prior to COVID-19 looked after a cancer patient. She did not qualify for the federal stimulus check and contracted COVID-19. Now in recovery, she shares how the neighbors she’s known since immigrating to the United States began disappearing one-by-one as New York went into lockdown.

The content above is produced and provided by United We Dream. "Undocumented Under COVID" is a new video series with more episodes to follow soon.
