Use Your Voice: Tell the Senate to Pass the Dream and Promise Act
Posted June 2020
The Supreme Court has temporarily blocked the Trump Administration from terminating the DACA program for immigrants who came here as children. However, the Court made clear that the Administration has the authority to terminate DACA if it follows specific legal requirements. And the Administration has indicated that it will take the steps necessary to end the program. You can help by calling on your senators to provide permanent immigration protections for these Dreamers, who are American in every way but their paperwork. Ask your senators to call on Senate Leader McConnell to bring the “Dream and Promise Act” up for a vote immediately.
Call Your Representatives in Congress
Don’t know what to say? Here is a short message you can borrow.
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent.
I’m calling today to urge [Senator] to ask Senate Leader McConnell to bring the Dream and Promise Act up for a vote. Now that the Supreme Court has authorized the Trump Administration to end the DACA program, Congress must act quickly to protect Dreamers. Each day that we do not have a solution in place, millions of lawful residents are put at risk of deportation, often to countries they cannot even remember.
You can fix this.
The Dream and Promise Act would provide Dreamers the critical protections they need to live in and contribute fully to the country they call home.
